Bogie-hearth shell mould firing furnace
The car carries the load into and out of the chamber for loading outside the furnace. Selection starts with the load per car and the transfer arrangement.

Tunnel-type shell mould firing furnace
Shells move through successive stations in a tunnel. Shell dimensions, loading pattern and firing time guide the choice of furnace length.

Rotary shell mould firing furnace
A rotating hearth brings shells to the loading and unloading positions. Part size and handling clearance determine the hearth diameter and station layout.

Box furnace with twin regenerative chambers
A box furnace has fixed chambers. The twin-chamber regenerative layout shown here allows the two chambers to be scheduled around batch size and handling requirements.
